27, 2005 "army dude" ... and other photos by Pamela Thompson, insurgent49 - click on images to enlarge -
"army dude" - firmly planted (thank god) on 4th ave. in front of "Army/Navy Store", downtown Anchorage. he made me imagine what it might feel like, if he was for real, running on the sidewalk and looking to shoot someone ? of course, I thought about Iraq and the innocent people who live there and all the other places in the world where military people are everywhere and sometimes killing people right in front of you and thoughts like that....
"hummer w/ war license plate" - 2003, downtown anchorage near courthouse. A friend told me hummer belongs to a guy w/ the "war" initials and his last name is Ross ? Anyways, he happened to show up while I was taking the shot, smiled and asked if I’d like to take a closer look @ his car. I said, "no thank you" and walked on. "art display of mannequins and
moi" - fall 2003, opening of new contemporary art institute,
Cincinnati, OH
There was a time when the Japanese gov't. did an advertising blitz about working women of all kinds and used this particular expression on all it's models, or something like that...... anyways, I set this shot up w/ me in it cause, it just so happened that all the gal models were wearing converse tennis shoes AND SO WAS I . loved that, so much... me being a gal "working stiff" and all........ |
