It’s been a contentious week here at Insurgent Headquarters.

Last month, this old photograph of Uncle Ted and his young son Ben gave us an idea for our very first Insurgent49 contest:

It's time to announce the winners.

A very special thanks goes out to everyone who sent their entry in to the ‘Ted & Ben Photo Caption Contest’. We had many a hearty laugh at Insurgent Headquarters while reading your often hilarious suggestions. The winning caption, posted at the bottom of this column, made our Art Director shoot milk out of his nose (that’s how we knew it was the winner). Here are the runners-up:

Third Runner-Up

sent in by Paula Cadiente from Anchorage

Second Runner-Up

sent in by Jim Sykes from Fairbanks

First Runner-Up

sent in by our very own Kevin Morford (sorry, Kevin ... you might have won, if not for our strict eligibility rules)

and the Winner is (drumroll, please ...)

sent in by Dirk Nelson from Ester

Congratulations, Dirk, you have won a year’s free subscription to Insurgent49! Thanks again, everyone who participated, and be sure to stay tuned for contests to come ...
