Wow!!! What the hell is going on?!? Are all liberals, whether nurtured or natured, actually going to hell? Is that bigot author LaHaye right? Are we joining the Buddhists, Muslims, Pope lovin’ Catholics and Nudists down there in the pit of eternal damnation? Has that wanna-be cowboy idiot in the White House truly brought about the endtimes? And if he’s got a man-date, it’s not unconstitutional if they’re not engaged right? That was a joke, people. Have no fear, the Verve is back and ready to kick some conservative ass. We’ve got the Sharpies™ out and we’re drawing the bullseye smackdab where our third eye used to be. The first freaks we want to take aim at would be the fundaMENTAL-ist right. I just can’t take anymore of this debacle in Florida. Let Terri die with some grace. (Editor’s note: Terry Schiavo passed away on Thursday morning, freeing the rest of us to get back to the Michael Jackson trial) This display is pathetic and it invokes the sin of pride. Bill Frist, shame on you. Maybe you could say a few prayers for the over 100,000 Iraqi citizens who have died since our occupation began. Again, Pride. Our terms; roadmap to democracy, liberation, WMDs, Saddam might have been a bad man, but GW takes the cake with this current genocide. This is Vietnam, only we don’t get the pictures. They don’t want us to see what’s going on. There is one Alaskan who has gone to bear witness and get the true report. Ex-Denali guide Dahr Jamahl has been an un-imbedded independent journalist in Iraq for the past year and a half. He gave a presentation at the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church this past Tuesday night, and even for an uber-liberal like myself it was an eye-opener. He’s been on the streets of Fallujah. He’s seen the wretched state inside the hospitals. He’s followed Bechtel’s lack of progress on their water treatment installations (Quote at 2 out of 3 treatment sites, “Bechtel who?”). And through it all he’s sent out dispatches through his web-site, www.dahrjamailiraq.com, detailing what’s really going on “on the ground”. The reports are criminal. He critically blames the jerks in charge of the war, but he also indicts the media for their complicit guilt in these war crimes. Fallujah was leveled because it was reported in the largest papers in America that “4 American civilians” were murdered. Not one mention of the fact that these ‘civilians’ were well paid security employees from Wackenhut in Iraq to support the military. Thousands of lives and hundreds of homes were destroyed in retaliation for the deaths of these mercenaries. It’s hard to get the real story when you’re imbedded in your hotel room and the army hands you their press release of the war. But that’s all you’ll get to read poor reader if all you receive is the news from one of the 5 conglomerates who own all our papers. It might piss you off that the war is being conducted with your money, but it should sadden the hell out of you that they are murdering thousands of people in your name. Liberals and any other inquiring folk, please check out Dahr’s site and read what’s really going on. Then send him some cash, he’s doing this all on his own dime. I’d like to thank the fine folks here at I-49 for giving me the chance to kick out the jams and to all you far right fundamentalist Christian motherfuckers out there, I’ll see you in hell!!!
