| October 20, 2006 Suspended Animation by Brian Anderson, insurgent49 stuck in a perpetual slumber you stay miles away and yet 3 feet away you lie silently (in the shadows you are so beautiful) in this light, I cannot see you you are lost to the buzz of fluorescence, nurses, science this game of waiting and waiting it tries my patience so such a stainless steel world of wires and tubes holding fragile lives in a fine balance You are a pristine angel barred and bound by a technology beyond all we are such a strange world are we scurrying and hurrying all over and to be trapped here saved by medical science? are you happy… stuck in this perpetual slumber in a limbo land where dreams are your only reality this is some justice holding back our evolution keeping us waiting and waiting tell me you are playing in a field of dreams tell me you are a child again on the other side of that perpetual slumber |
